It is amazing what a stiff set of regulations can do to keep out unwanted development and how loosely written regulations can invite in all manner of exceptions and excesses.
Every two and a half minutes, the American West loses a football field worth of natural area to human development. While this loss likely occurs at a slightly slower pace in the San Luis Valley, it is nevertheless a significant threat to our beloved wide open spaces, water, and way of life.

The marijuana regulation revisions prompted by the moratorium on commercial marijuana enacted in February have been released by the Saguache County Land Use department, and a public hearing will be held on the revised regulations on Thursday, July 19.
